"GyPSii ... offers what analysts say is a unique blend — something like a combination of Facebook and TripAdvisor, with some other location-based services thrown in. • “So, what did I enjoy most? Well, meeting and interviewing Robert Redford, urbane and articulate as always, was a high point. And chatting with industry big-wigs and CEOs like Sunil Mittal of Bharti, Jim Balsillie of RIM, Samsung’s Geesung Choi. "What we are enabling people to do is generate user generated content with their mobile phone in real time", Dan Harple, head of social networking service GyPSii
"As connected PNDs, handset-based pedestrian navigation, and location-based services begin to emerge, user-generated location content will become a key component that permits companies to enhance their services with real-time information in a cost-effective way that strengthens their communities and brand names," says ABI Research principal analyst Dominique Bonte. "Initiatives like GyPSii may ultimately reach a status comparable with existing social networking sites, such as Facebook and MySpace."

"Market Impact: High on the global social networking market where carriers struggle to find an acceptable position in the value chain. Showing real support for the GyPSii business model could set the pattern for similar manufacturer-carrier-content provider relationships in the sector." Bernt Ostergaard, Current Analysis.
