1. Olympics: Places, GyPSii services and partners GyPSii was the official Location Based Service for the Beijing Games for China Unicom. We provided Points-of-Interest for visitors to the Games along with user-generated Places from the Games. Here are some interesting Places for your enjoyment. On August 14, Elsa flew to Beijing and went to the USA vs Greece basketball game. She enjoyed the halftime show very much. The next day, Elsa went to visit the Palace Museum and returned to Shanghai. Allen was a volunteer during the Olympics. He took pictures of the football match between Australia and Serbia in Shanghai. Football (soccer) matches were played all over China during the Olympics. One of our favorites this month is how people added a personal touch to the Games with Olympic Haircuts. EastSight visited Beijing in March and created these places showing the progress of construction leading to the Games. Here are two views of the innovative National Aquatics Center that held swimming events and two of the iconic Birds Nest Stadium that hosted Track & Field and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Delicious! Olympics Dishes from around town. 2. Software: new Blackberry client For current Blackberry-using GyPSii members, a new version is available. Point your BlackBerry to http://www.gypsii.com/m to get the new release of our Blackberry client. This version adds a new visual look and feel and introduces some new features. HowTo: Fast PlaceMe Need help using GyPSii? We are working on a series of short help videos inside GyPSii. Here is a short video showing how to make Places with your mobile phone. Going forward, find more help videos on GyPSii by searching for "HowTo". 4. Webtop Feature Change: Lightbox image pop-up on/off switch By popular request you can now turn the Lightbox image pop-up feature off or on. To deactivate, simply click the Me link on the left navigation bar, then select General Information. In the Preferences box in General Information there is a check box labelled "Always pop up image when viewing a place." Uncheck this box to not have images pop up automatically when loading a Place. Click Save Settings and enjoy a smoother GyPSii experience. You can still view a Place's images with the Lightbox by clicking on the icon next to a Place name. Find a complete walk-thru in the Web FAQ. 5.
